Interview: Jay talks The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

This is from The Montreal Gazette and was published on July 9th, it’s an interview with Jay about varied subjects including his new film:
To say Jay Baruchel was in a good mood yesterday morning is a major understatement. We met at a swank Old Montreal hotel and, though he was stuck right smack in the middle of an avalanche of interviews, N.D.G.’s gift to Hollywood couldn’t have been happier.
The 28-year-old actor could barely contain his enthusiasm, whether he was talking about his first-ever starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster or the fact that the blockbuster in question, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, was set to have its Canadian premiere last night at our very own Fantasia Film Festival, which just happens to be Baruchel’s favourite film fest in the whole wide world. (The film opens in theatres Wednesday.)
Just how giddy was Baruchel? This lifelong Habs devotee even tried to put a positive spin on the Canadiens’ hotly contested decision to trade heroic goalie Jaroslav Halak to the St. Louis Blues. Much as I like Baruchel, that was the point where I began to wonder if all that Tinseltown success was finally clouding his judgment. But more on this amateur hot-stove chat a little later.
