Bit late with this (thanks Sheila for sending it in!), and if it’s true it’s fabulous news – MTV reports that Jay has joined Robert Pattinson (and a rumored Keira Knightley, though that is a fairly far fetched rumor) as cast for upcoming Cosmopolis (IMDB confirms for now):
The actor, who turns 29 on April 9, can add “Cosmopolis” to his growing list of projects, which includes the sequel to “How to Train Your Dragon” and the hockey comedy “Goon”.
What do you think? Does Cosmopolis sound interesting to you?
MTV caught up with Jay to talk about his new hockey film Goon:
“I saw a rough cut of it last week and it’s phenomenal,” Baruchel said. “It’s easily the best hockey that’s ever been captured on film, it has the most legit fighting that I’ve seen in movies in a decade, it’s damn funny and my fiancee [Alison Pill] is beautiful and amazing in it so yeah, life is great!”
Sorry I’m a bit late with this (I have one more update to do for you guys today, which I’m also late with) but things are crazy here as always, I’m thinking about hiring henchmen to help me out, lol!
You’ve probably been hearing this for awhile, I know I have, but the high and mighties (Chris Saunders and Dean DeBlois) at the How To Train Your Dragon franchise have been talking about it for awhile, and now it’s Jay’s turn to chime in on HTTYD 2 not being a sequel, but a second chapter:
“I’m going to be starting work on it this year, yeah,” Baruchel confirmed to MTV News during the “Freaks and Geeks” / “Undeclared” Reunion at the Paley Center in Los Angeles last weekend. He added that he knows the sequel’s story, too, as he’s already seen the script: “Yes I do. I know everything about it. I read it last week!”
